On 15 Sep 2022, the New Zealand Financial Markets Authority (NZ FMA) awared that seminars have been held in New Zealand to promote the products and services of Validus.
FMA were concerned that Validus was operating in breach of the New Zealand financial markets legislation, in particular, Validus was providing financial services in New Zealand without registration as a financial service provider as required by the Financial Service Providers (Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act 2008. It strongly recommended that investors do not trade or invest with entities that are not registered and/or licensed in New Zealand.

Validus claims to be an online trading university, and the webpage also boasts Shariah compliance certification from Global Islamic Financial Services (GIFS) to promote a portfolio of financial products.
However, GIFS Islam is just a corporate finance and investment advisory firm and has no authority to regulate financial products or services.
Moreover, the New Zealand Financial Markets Authority (NZ FMA) concerned that Validus is operating in breach of the New Zealand financial markets legislation, in particular, Validus is providing financial services in New Zealand without registration as a financial service provider as required by the Financial Service Providers (Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act 2008.
