Car Crash Exposes Prince Group Chinese Deputy Leader: Weapons, Explosives Found, $583M Baht Assets Frozen

7 hours ago WikiForex

A traffic accident has uncovered a suspected cross-border scam network involving weapons, explosives and millions in illicit funds.

On June 12, Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) announced new developments in “Dragon Nest Blast,” revealing that authorities had frozen assets worth over 583 million baht linked to Chinese national Mingchen Sun and his alleged network.

The investigation began in May after Sun, 30, was involved in a car crash in Chonburi Province. Police later found weapons and high-explosive materials at his residence, leading to a wider probe.

Authorities suspected Sun’s connection to the Prince Group scam network and began tracing his financial activities. Investigators found that accounts linked to Sun had received more than 100 million baht through multiple mule accounts.

Further checks showed the accounts were connected to over 4,000 cybercrime cases, with total reported losses exceeding 815 million baht.

On June 9, Thai police searched 14 locations across Bangkok, Samut Prakan and Chiang Mai, seizing luxury properties, vehicles, land documents and electronic evidence. The total value of frozen assets exceeded 583 million baht.

Police said Sun was not considered a minor participant and may have played a key role in the alleged transnational criminal network.

A joint task force has been formed to analyze digital evidence, track financial flows and identify other suspects. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities expected to pursue further arrests and asset seizures.
