IG Group Appoints Qu Zhao as CEO of IG Securities Japan

9 hours ago WikiForex

Leading UK online broker IG Group has appointed Qu Zhao as the new CEO of its Japanese subsidiary, IG Securities Japan.

Qu Zhao replaces longtime executive Tomoharu Furuichi, who departed the firm earlier this year after years of service at IG.

According to IG’s 2025 Annual Report, the company held £248.0 million in segregated client funds for its Japanese business at the end of 2025, up from £234.1 million reported as of May 31, 2025—highlighting steady growth in the region.

Qu joins IG from Moomoo, a Tencent-backed digital brokerage, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer in Japan over the past two years. Her previous experience also includes leadership roles at Tinder, where she was Country Head for Japan and Head of East Asia, as well as at BIGO, where she led operations across Japan and the East Pacific region.

This appointment marks IG’s continued expansion in Asia and represents its second senior hire from Moomoo within a year, following the recruitment of Gavin Chia as CEO of its Singapore business in mid-2025.
