Lucian Lauerman Named CEO of OANDA Europe Amid FTMO-Linked Restructuring

8 hours ago WikiForex

Lucian Lauerman has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of OANDA Europe Limited, part of broader leadership changes tied to the ongoing acquisition process involving FTMO.

FTMO founders Otakar Šuffner and Marek Vašíček have assumed co-CEO roles at OANDA following discussions with Gavin Bambury, who stepped down from the position.

From Digital Assets to the Top Job

Lauerman’s promotion follows a series of senior roles within OANDA. He served as Deputy Chief Operating Officer for over two years before taking the CEO role. Previously, he was Head of Digital Assets for roughly two and a half years, and before that, Head of Data Services in London.

Earlier in his career, Lauerman spent about seven years at Saxo Bank in senior electronic distribution and API roles. He also worked at Lloyds Banking Group for nearly three years.

Meanwhile, OANDA Prop Trader is being transferred to the FTMO group. The migration began in March this year, with non-migrating clients receiving refunds and possible incentives.

Separately, FTMO has expanded into India, where prop trading interest has surged since 2023. Firms including FundingPips, The5ers, FundedNext, and Maven report India accounts for a significant share of their web traffic, especially among younger traders.
