2 hours ago WikiForex

KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysian police have dismantled a suspected online forex investment scam call centre operating from a luxury condominium in Wangsa Maju, arresting nine Chinese nationals and one Malaysian man.

The raid was carried out on June 25 by the Kuala Lumpur Police Strike Force following public information and intelligence gathering. Officers found the suspects inside a 17th-floor condominium unit and seized several laptops and mobile phones believed to have been used for the alleged scam operation.

Police said initial investigations showed that the Chinese nationals were allegedly involved in an online forex investment scam targeting victims in China. The group is believed to have operated from the unit since early May.

The Malaysian suspect was allegedly responsible for providing daily food deliveries to the group.

Authorities are continuing investigations to identify the condominium owner, possible facilitators, and individuals linked to the suspected syndicate. The case has been handed over to the Kuala Lumpur Commercial Crime Investigation Department for further investigation.
