Over RM31 Million Lost: “High Inspirations” Investment Scam Exposed as Foreign Victims File Police Reports in Malaysia

4 hours ago WikiForex

On April 22, seven foreign nationals filed police reports in Malaysia, accusing an international fraud syndicate of orchestrating a large-scale investment scam that resulted in losses exceeding RM31 million. The reports were lodged at the Cheras district police headquarters.

According to lawyer Andy Yeoh, who represents the victims, the group consists of six Chinese nationals (including individuals from mainland China and Taiwan) and one South Korean. He also revealed that more than 300 additional victims are considering legal action to recover their funds.

The victims were lured by an online investment scheme operated by a company called “High Inspirations,” which promised a fixed return of 5% per transaction. The platform claimed to be legitimate and marketed itself as a stable source of income.

“The investment program started in 2018 and appeared to function normally at first,” said Yeoh. “However, from September 2021 onward, investors began experiencing withdrawal issues. Eventually, the platform shut down completely in August last year.”

During the press conference, a 58-year-old Taiwanese victim, Liu Chun Kuang, stated that those affected come from diverse backgrounds, including small business owners and salaried workers—many of whom invested their life savings.

He urged authorities to take decisive action: “We call on the Malaysian government to investigate this syndicate thoroughly and help victims recover their losses.”

Meanwhile, Mohd Rosdi Daud, head of the Cheras district police, confirmed that reports have been received and that investigations are currently underway.
