Thai Actress's Husband Accused in 1.3 Billion Baht Crypto Scam: Over 1,000 Victims Left Devastated

10 hours ago WikiForex

Thailand has been rocked by a massive cryptocurrency investment fraud involving the husband of a famous Thai actress. The alleged scam, which has ensnared more than 1,000 victims, is estimated to have caused losses totaling 1.3 billion baht (approximately $41 million).
On March 9, a group of 30 victim representatives, accompanied by a civil organization leader, filed a formal complaint with Thailand's Central Investigation Bureau (CIB). They accused the suspect of operating two fraudulent crypto investment platforms—WOWBiT and ACET ONLY—which lured investors with promises of returns as high as 500x.
According to victims, the platforms required them to lock their funds until March 1, 2026, after which they could withdraw profits. However, when the maturity date arrived, investors found themselves unable to access their money. The suspect initially blamed a "hacker attack" and later cited "legal issues" to buy time, before abruptly leaving the country. He is now believed to have fled to Dubai.
Many victims admitted they let their guard down due to the suspect's carefully crafted image of success. On social media, he frequently flaunted luxury cars, an opulent lifestyle, and photos with politicians and celebrities, projecting an aura of credibility and influence.
The case is considered one of the largest celebrity-linked investment scams in Thailand's recent history. Authorities have launched an investigation and are working to track down the suspect.
