Malaysia SC Flags Synergy Berhad and Ares Over Suspected Unauthorised Activities

Malaysia’s Securities Commission (SC) has added Synergy Berhad and Ares to its Investor Alert List as of August 21, 2026, warning that both are suspected of conducting unauthorised activities.

Synergy Berhad: Accused of running an illegal investment scheme promising unrealistic returns, such as RM15,000 from a RM500 investment in just three hours, conducting unlicensed securities activities, and misusing the SC’s name.
Ares: Flagged for allegedly misusing the SC’s name and falsely implying regulatory approval.

Investors are advised to verify a platform’s regulatory status before investing.
