CNMV Warns of Three Unauthorized Investment Websites, Flags Clone Targeting IG Group

The Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) has issued a warning against three websites that are offering investment services in the country without proper authorization. Among them is a clone site impersonating the well-known trading platform IG Group.

The flagged websites are:

• value-markets.com
• ig-indexlimited.com

According to the CNMV, none of these domains appear in its official registry, meaning they are not authorized to provide investment services or conduct any related activities in Spain.

In particular, the regulator highlighted that ig-indexlimited.com operates as a clone firm. The CNMV stressed that this website has no connection whatsoever with Indexa Capital A.V., S.A. , a duly registered investment firm in Spain (registry No. 257).

Clone firms typically mimic the names, websites, or branding of legitimate, regulated companies to deceive investors. In this case, while ig-indexlimited.com borrows from the reputation of IG Group, the CNMV clarified its complete lack of affiliation with Indexa Capital, a locally authorized entity.

Investors are advised to always verify a firm’s registration status through the CNMV’s official registry before committing funds.
