QRS Global Rebrands as Brex Capital Following Acquisition, Amid Previous Thailand Forex Controversy

5 hours ago WikiForex

Thailand-focused CFD broker QRS Global has reportedly been acquired by an international investment group and has relaunched under a new brand name, Brex Capital. The move comes shortly after the company appointed Sophie Squillacioti as its Chief Executive.

According to Squillacioti, the broker’s trading infrastructure, services, and operations will remain unchanged, with the main differences being the ownership structure and brand identity. She did not disclose the identity of the new owners.

QRS Global’s website has been redirected to the Brex Capital platform, with a company representative confirming that the transition was part of a “takeover under the management of Brex Capital.” Existing clients can continue using their accounts without opening new ones, and customer support services will remain available.

Like QRS Global, Brex Capital operates under a Comoros-registered entity. The new brand also appears to hold a South African financial services provider license, which permits promotional activities in the country but does not allow market-making activities.

The rebranding follows controversy surrounding QRS Global after the broker was named in an alleged Thai forex investment fraud case. In June, Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation (DSI) accepted a case involving QRS and other CFD-related brands.

Thai authorities reportedly arrested the CEO of QRS Global’s local operator, QRS Education Co Ltd, over allegations including fraud conspiracy, operating unauthorized financial businesses, providing false computer data, and money laundering. Several individuals accused of promoting the alleged forex investment scheme were also reportedly detained.

With the launch of Brex Capital, market observers are watching whether the new ownership and leadership structure will help distance the company from previous controversies and strengthen its regulatory transparency.
